Matt Damon believes it was "bad choices" that have nearly ruined best friend Ben Affleck's film career. The 'Bourne Ultimatum' star recently said openly what we all think: "He picked things that in hindsight weren't a good choice. "
"I also think that if you end up on the cover of gossip magazines you're f**ked," he added in reference to Affleck's once public love affair with Jennifer Lopez.
"When people see you all the time there's no mystery about you any more and no-one's going to want to go and see your movies."
Damon's career has taken off with 'The Departed' and the 'Bourne' trilogy, while many of Affleck's films, including 'Gigli' have flopped badly.
Affleck, 34, who is now married to Jennifer Garner with who he has a 20-month-old daughter, Violet, has redeemed himself considerable with his portrayal as George Reeves in "Hollywoodland".
Damon, 36, is married to former bartender Luciana Bozan. He is stepfather to her daughter Alexia, and the couple also have a one-year-old daughter Isabella.
