His money and celebrity couldn't get him away from the long arm of the jury commissioner in Los Angeles where he has his legal residence. Brad Pitt had postponed jury service numerous times, but finally had to fly to LA to report for duty. Not only was Brad not excused because he was a celebrity, he was selected to sit on a DUI trial. Bummer!
But that's where his "average guy picked for jury duty" saga ends. The actor was allowed to park in an underground lot and enter the courtroom via the judges' elevator.
Then, as he sat amongst civilians quietly reading a book, he was approached by a woman who held up a magazine that announced his split from Angelina Jolie. When the woman ask "Is this true?" the superstar was moved to a private room to read and wait.
While in seculsion, Pitt's assistant brought him a Subway sandwich for lunch. Eventually, as the day wore on and the jury still wasn't seated, the defendant decided to take the prosecution's deal and the jury was dismissed before hearing the case.
And that means Brad won't be bothered with jury duty again for at least another couple of years.
