Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ single looks set to become the longest-running number one single for over a decade on the UK charts.
Sales figures indicate ‘Umbrella’, which features Jay-Z, is likely to top the chart for its tenth week - industry bible ‘Music Week’ reports.
If Rihanna manages to hold on to the top spot for the tenth week, she will become only the seventh artist in UK chart history to reach double figures.
Wet Wet Wet’s ‘Love is all Around’, released in 1994,was the last single to spend over nine weeks at the top spot.
Rihanna recently performed at the Live Earth concert in Tokyo.
