Nicole Richie was in court to hear her punishment for her wrong-way DUI bust in December. A court commissioner sentenced the Simple Life star to serve 4 days in the City or County Jail (she gets to choose!) as long as she does so by September 28. Unlike the circus that surrounded Paris Hilton's court appearance, a source close to Richie said at today's sentencing she was "stoic and serious, but not emotional."
Richie was also fined $2,048, was ordered back to school for 21 days to an alcohol education course and on three years probation.
The commissioner issued Richie a stern warning since she has two DUI convictions in 4 years. He told her if she she drove drunk again and she actually killed someone she would be charged with murder -- not manslaughter. That's because after her first DUI, Richie agreed that if she drove under the influence and killed someone, she'd be nailed for murder.
The 25-year-old's baby is due sometime in January.
