In the minutes before Lindsay Lohan's arrest, the mother of her former personal assistant (who had quit hours before the event) called 911 and pleaded frantically for help because a car was chasing her. The woman didn't realize that it was Lohan in the chase vehicle when she contacted a Santa Monica police dispatcher shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. But when cops caught up to the car, Lohan reportedly told police, "I wasn't driving. The black kid was driving."
"We were just about to park our car. We are turning home and out of nowhere a huge white GMC came up," the woman said to the dispatcher. "We're being followed by a GMC ... the gentleman jumped out of the car," she added a few seconds later. "Oh my God, sir, they're following us. We need help."
During the 3-minute 911 call, the dispatcher repeatedly asked the woman where she is. The woman eventually said she was heading for the police station. "They're in front of HQ now. Roll somebody code. Ma'am, what's going on there? Hello? Hello? Ma'am? Hello?" the dispatcher said.
A few moments later, a cop shows up and the woman is heard pointing out people to the officers. "That's him, that's him right there," she said. "And him, stop them."
Police said the woman, accompanied by a passenger, drove her black Cadillac Escalade into the parking lot of Santa Monica's Civic Auditorium, about a block away from the police department, followed by Lohan driving a white GMC Yukon Denail SUV.
Authorities who arrived saw Lohan and the woman in what police have called a "heated debate." They also said two men were with Lohan in the car.
During the call, the woman could be heard saying "Oh my God, what is he doing?" Near the end, hysterical but muffled yelling and screaming is heard.
The guys with Lohan in the car are telling their side of the story too. They say they were "kidnapped" by Lohan as she jumped in and began to chase her assistant's mom at speeds of up to 80 MPH through Santa Monica, blowing multiple red lights.
One of the men, Dante Nigro, who owned the white SUV, said he realized the mother was driving to the police station and warned Lindsay if she didn't stop she'd get in hot water. He says Lindsay responded, "I'm a celebrity. I'm not going to get in trouble."
When the two cars stopped in a parking lot and the police arrived, Dante says it seemed as if Lindsay told officers, "I wasn't driving. The black kid was driving."
Another man, Ronnie Blake, had been in the car but got scared and jumped out. Lindsay reportedly then drove over his foot, breaking three of his toes.
Dante and the other passenger, Jakon Sutter, say they saw Lindsay flunk the field sobriety test. They say when she tried touching her nose, she almost fell over.
Blake said: "It was pretty much the worst night of my whole summer."
