Ronnie Ramsey, the brother of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is desperate to get out of the Indonesian jail where he's been held since he was busted for heroin possession earlier this year. He faces up to ten years behind bars and is looking to the Hell's Kitchen chef to come to his rescue. Ronnie says, "I asked him for his help, he knows I need help. But he made his decision not to help me. I've heard nothing from my family. It's heartbreaking."
Ronnie's lawyer Eric Siregar confirms, "I've tried to contact Gordon Ramsay three times but I haven't ever received a reply. I don't know how his brother can be so cruel. He can help but he chooses not to."
The chef, who has amassed a $134 million (GBP67 million) fortune from his Michelin-starred eateries, books and television shows, refuses to comment on the situation saying through his spokesperson, "This is a sensitive issue, and at times like this it is not fair on his mother."
In the past, Ramsay has revealed his sibling's drug habit has been an ongoing problem for the family, despite paying for Ronnie's rehab and efforts to find work and housing.
Ronnie concedes, "He's helped me out on a number of occasions... he's made his decision and I've got to respect that."
