Amy Winehouse, Dizzee Rascal and the Arctic Monkeys are among the nominees for this year’s Mercury Music Prize in the UK.
The Arctic Monkeys, who won the award last year, are nominated for their 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' album, Winehouse for her ‘Back To Black’ album and Dizzee Rascal, another previous winner, for ‘Maths + English’.
A shortlist of 12 albums from a range of genres is picked by a panel of music industry experts, with the winner being announced on September 4.
Dizzee - who won the award in 2003 for his debut ‘Boy In Da Corner’ - said he was shocked to be nominated again and said how winning the first award had kick-started his career.
“I think it gave a me a lot of recognition and made a lot of people know my name who might never have heard of me otherwise,” he said.
The winner of the award, which is open to albums released by British and Irish acts in the last 12 months, will win £20,000.
