50 Cent is suing an advertising company for $1 million, claiming it illegally used his image in a game inviting the player to shoot him.
The ‘Shoot the Rapper’ game, which features in advertising banners for Traffix Inc., urges the viewer to shoot at him by clicking their mouse.
Although the game doesn’t mention 50 Cent by name, the rapper’s lawyer says "it looks like him, and there's no doubt the character is intended to be him".
Adding 50 Cent is “personally offended” by the company using his likeness without his permission and suggesting he endorses the game.
50’s lawsuit asks for at least $1 million in damages and a permanent injunction stopping the company using his image without permission.
A lawyer for the New York based company, Traffix Inc, says he has not yet been served with the legal papers and declined to comment on the suit.
The rapper, who says he’s been shot nine times, heard about the advert after one of his management saw it on a MySpace page.
