Paris Hilton was freaking out in jail so the sheriff's office let her go early, at least that's the excuse for the socialite's early release from her 23-day sentence. According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say that her medical condition was not physical, it was purely psychological and that she was in peril of having a nervous breakdown.
She was sent home at 2 a.m. this morning and was credited for "5 days" of incarceration even though she arrived just before midnight on Sunday and left just before 2 am today (Thursday). The decision to release her to house arrest was made entirely by the L.A. Sheriff's Department.
Because of her "undisclosed" medical problem, she gets to trade her 12' X 8' foot cell for "house arrest" at her 2,700 square foot mansion.
Paris must wear a electronic monitoring ankle bracelet for the next 40 days of her home confinement sentence for violating probation in a reckless driving case. Her new lockup is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom, Spanish-style home on 0.14 acre above the Sunset Strip.
