What does Nicole Richie's near future hold? Rumors have been swirling for weeks that the Simple LIfe star is pregnant, now she's sparking new talk that she will marry beau Joel Madden. As for a possible pregnancy, Nicole has so far refused to confirm or deny those rumors after she was snapped by paparazzi with a rounding belly on her skinny frame.
Joel, who accompanied Nicole to a party at the Beverly Hills Hotel last Thursday, appears to have proposed. Nicole was clearly seen wearing a large diamond ring on her finger.
An eyewitness tells Page Six, "It was one big rock surrounded by more diamonds. (Madden) was overly attentive to her - keeping his arm around her all night - and repeatedly asked her if she was OK."
All serious celebrations will have to wait though. Nicole is due in court next week to face charges that she drove her car under the influence of painkillers and marijuana last year. If the judge goes tough on her, as Paris Hilton's did, Nicole could serve jail time for the offenses.
