British teen actor Daniel Radcliffe has joined the lofty ranks of the highest paid film stars of all time. Joining the likes of Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp, Dan just penned a deal that will pay him $50 million to star in the final two wizard films, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
The actor told the Daily Mail such princely sums give him room to explore other acting possibilities. "Obviously, I'm in a very fortunate position where I don't have to do things for the money," he said. "I can simply do them because there's an interesting character and a good director involved."
After he launches the latest Potter film - the gala world premiere will be in London on July 3 - Dan will appear in the World War I drama "My Boy Jack".
Also coming up next month, Daniel will turn 18 and will finally gets his hands on an estimated $40 million (£20 million) fortune which has been held in trust. As for what he'll splash his money on, he's says he'll take it easy.
"I'm quite interested in artwork and things like that but I've never been into cars or anything. So I don't think I'm going to splash out on a classic car collection which I think people expect me to."
