With their family star and breadwinner looking like a trainwreck, suddenly concerned parents Michael and Dina Lohan are expressing strong emotions over Lindsay and the divorced couple are getting together to discuss things: "I reached out because we have to put our differences aside and do what's best for Lindsay," Michael said. "She's all that matters. If Dina would just get on my page we can be there for Lindsay together."
"I want to be there for Lindsay, and I can't be stonewalled anymore. This kid needs some real help," he said - despite the fact that the star has had little to do with her troubled father for many years now. Because Dina has a restraining order on her ex-husband stemming from their 2005 divorce, he is not allowed to contact her directly. Instead, Michael had his lawyer call Dina's lawyer to set up a meeting.
Meanwhile, over in rehab, firecrotch is being treated for addition to alcohol and for abuse of the mega-painkiller OxyContin.
Lindsay entered Promises rehab center in Malibu, Calif., Tuesday after a booze-fueled holiday weekend during which she crashed her Mercedes, and cops found cocaine in the car. Less than 48 hours later, she collapsed outside a Hollywood club.
Michael, who recently served jail time for assault and driving while intoxicated, told E! Online:: "I spoke to the people treating Lindsay, because I wanted to make sure she was getting the right care. And I'm satisfied they are doing the right thing for her, helping her detox from the painkillers and things. That's a very important step. And I learned they use the 12-step program which includes a lot of lessons based on God's teachings, so I was satisfied with that. First she needs to get clean, then she needs to let God into her life."
