A woman who the authorities say is an obsessed fan of Sandra Bullock tried to run over the actress' husband in an attack, police said Thursday. Jesse James was unpleasantly surprised Sunday morning when, upon leaving the couple's home in Seal Beach, California, he discovered Marcia Valentine lying in waiting in their driveway.
The "Monster Garage" TV show host asked her to leave. The woman then got into her 2004 silver Mercedes and tried to run him over three to four times before fleeing.
The vehicle didn't actually touch James and he was not hurt, but Bullock and James' 10-year-old son Jesse Jr witnessed the attack and her said to be shaken by it.
Valentine was arrested early Monday and was released on Tuesday after posting bail of $25,000.
Bullock has suffered problems with stalkers in the past. In 2006 she won a three-year restraining order against a man she has accused of stalking her across three US states.
