Hollywood star Salma Hayek hopes to promote Latino movies and talent around the world after setting up a new production company called Ventanazul.
The Mexican-born actress will link up with Hollywood studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) to release between two and four movies each year.
The Oscar-nominee says she wants to make Latinos “proud” of their culture.
Adding the deal is "an amazing opportunity to draw upon the entire range of ways the Latin world can contribute to the film industry” by making films which will appeal "to everyone".
40-year-old Hayek, who is expecting her first child, is an executive producer of hit TV series Ugly Betty.
