Rapper Eve was rolling down Hollywood Boulevard at around 2:45 AM Thursday morning when she crashed her gold Maserati into a center divider. TMZ was on the scene in a tic-or-a-toc, and observed the rapped getting handcuffed by police, and was "visibly upset" as they placed her into a squad car.
Eve, whose full name is Eve Jeffers, submitted to testing to determine her blood alcohol level, but the results are not yet available.
The 28-year-old entertainer was booked on misdemeanor drunken driving and posted $30,000 bail. Eve is scheduled to return to court May 17th.
It is believed that actor Sean Penn visited the prison to check in on the star. Police sources tell TMZ, "He came to see how Eve was doing."
