Madonna, Kanye West and Rihanna are among the artists who will perform at concerts around the world to raise awareness about global warming.
The Live Earth concerts will take place at seven locations around the world on July 7.
West, Alicia Keys and Rihanna will perform at America’s Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, along with other acts including Kelly Clarkson, Fall Out Boy and John Mayer.
Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at London’s Wembley Stadium. Among the other acts appearing there the Keane, James Blunt and John Legend.
Other concerts will take place in Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Sydney and Shanghai.
“We hope the energy created by Live Earth will jump start a massive public education effort. Live Earth will help us reach a tipping point that's needed to move corporations and governments to take decisive action to solve the climate crisis,” says Al Gore, the former U.S. vice president who is now battling global warming.
Fans can register their interest for tickets online from 11.00 GMT on Friday. The tickets cost £55 ($108) and will be limited to two per application. They will be able to purchase from April 18.
The concerts, which will be broadcast on television, radio and online, were organised by the Save Our Selves environmental group.
