Beyonce Knowles and her mom Tina are breathing a sigh of relief after a lawsuit filed against them by a former business associate was dismissed by a New York judge.
There was no evidence of a written contract between Icon Entertainment CEO Greg Walker and Beyonce and Tina, who created the House of Dereon fashion label – Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Herman Kahn ruled this morning.
Walker claimed Mrs and Miss Knowles had failed to pay him commission he was owed for helping them strike a deal with clothing manufacturer Wear Me Apparel Corp, which led to the establishment of the House of Dereon line.
The lawsuit was filed last summer after Walker was paid $25,000 by Beyonce for his help in setting up marketing and endorsement deals for her, a sum which Walker described as an insult.
