Angelina Jolie says her active involvement in charity work is something she "had to do": "It became clear to me I was an incredibly privileged Hollywood star and I had to so something against the screaming injustice on this planet.
"I don't want to act like the Mother Teresa of Hollywood. I quite simply want to help where there is poverty and destitution. Am I the only one who thinks and acts like that?"
The actress and UN ambassador says celebrities should be free to say and do what they want without having to explain their actions.
Angelina explained: "I believe that people in the public eye should be allowed to speak and act freely, without having to justify themselves every step of the way."
