Big Man Shaquille O'Neal wants to know why kids are so fat. The Miami Heat center has signed to star in a six-episode ABC series in which he will help overweight elementary and junior high school students lose weight while educating viewers about childhood obesity.
The show is an adaptation of a British series called Ian Wright's Unfit Kids, featuring the former soccer star.
Shaq is a father of six and has been outspoken about the issue of children and weight problems.
Segments will feature the 6'9" NBA all-star working with local politicians and school officials to change school lunch programs to promote better nutrition, ABC said. The show will also focus on the children's lives outside of school and examine the reasons behind their eating habits.
O'Neal has supported causes that battle youth obesity and childhood diabetes for several years.
