Rihanna is one busy lady. The Barbados-born babe is already recording her third album, just two years after releasing her debut.
"It's a nonstop pace, very speedily, and Def Jam [her record label] does not play, that's all I can tell you," Rihanna says.
"We just keep going and going. It's fun, we make sure that we have fun while we do it."
The first single from the 19-year-old’s as-yet-untitled album is Umbrella, which features Def Jam President Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter.
"It shows such growth for her as an artist," Jay-Z says. "If you listen to the lyrics to that song, you know the depth and how far she's come."
Rihanna adds: "Umbrella is a serious song, a relationship song... It's different, and that's what I love about it. People are not going to expect a song like that from me."
The album, scheduled for release on June 5, will also feature a song written by Justin Timberlake.
