American rap star Busta Rhymes is to face trial on two assault charges in May after a New York judge withdrew a plea deal enabling him to avoid jail.
The offer - which was made last month and enabled him to take probation and community service instead of going to jail - was withdrawn after Busta, real name Trevor Smith, was arrested again after being caught driving on a suspended licence.
Rhymes rejected a follow-up after made by the prosecution after the deal was withdrawn.
Busta will now appear in court to face charges of assault, one against a fan who allegedly spat on his car and another against his driver.
He chose to go to trial instead of serving a year in jail for each count of assault. As well as a $500 (£250) fine for the suspended licence charge.
