The frenzy surrounding Leoardo DiCaprio and girlfriend Bar Rafaeli reached Brad-and-Ange size proportions yesterday when the couple arrived in her native Israel and were immediately swarmed by a hoard of paparazzi. Things got so out of hand that two bodyguards with the couple got into a scuffle with the photographers in Jerusalem and were arrested.
DiCaprio is currently visiting the city with his model girlfriend but the pair have been hounded by paparazzi throughout their vacation, some even taking to the air to spy on them using helicopters.
By the time the two headed for Refaeli's family's home in an upscale Tel Aviv suburb, it was besieged by dozens of photographers desperate for a glimpse of the two.
On Monday, the pair eluded their pursuers and traveled to Jerusalem, eventually visiting the Western Wall and its subterranean tunnels in the Old City, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
But the visit turned violent upon their exit, when the couple's bodyguards scuffled with photographers waiting outside. A number of journalists said they were punched and their equipment damage.
