Joss Stone has made US chart history with the highest new entry by a British female artist.
The soul singer’s third album, Introducing Joss Stone, went straight to number two on the US Billboard chart.
It sold 118,000 copies in its first week.
The album hasn’t done so well in the UK, reaching number 12.
Stone isn’t the only British songstress making an impact in America. Amy Winehouse is at number 10 on the chart, Corinne Bailey Rae at 22 and Lily Allen at 41.
Joss’ debut album, The Soul Sessions, reached number 38 in the US. Its follow-up Mind, Body and Soul reached 11.
