Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Jamie Foxx have scooped the top trophies at this year’s Soul Train Awards.
Blige’s The Breakthrough was named Best R&B/Soul Album By A Female Artist, while Foxx’s Unpredictable won the male equivalent of the award.
Despite winning the event’s major honours, neither artist turned up at the California ceremony on Saturday to collect their awards.
Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, who performed at the event, was given the Sammy Davis Jr Award for Entertainer of The Year.
"I just can't believe I got the Sammy Davis Jr Award," Hudson said. "I'm standing on the same stage where I made the top 32 of American Idol."
Beyonce won Best Single By A Female for her song Irreplaceable, while John Legend’s Save Room took the male award. The Best Single By A Group went to Gnarls Barkley for Crazy.
Other winners included Ne-Yo (Best New R&B, Soul or Rap Artist), Jay-Z (Best Video for Show Me What You Got) and The Isley Brothers (Best Album By A Group for Baby Makin‘ Music).
