A woman ran up to actor Hugh Grant and handcuffed herself to him while he walked the red carpet at the Amsterdam premiere of his latest romantic comedy "Music and Lyrics," The New York Daily News reported.
"I am trying to be with my fans and you are pissing me off," he reportedly told her. "Do you have a key?"
She replied no, and an exasperated Grant said, "Well, then, you will have to walk with me inside."
The woman, Cielke Sijben, was a journalist working for Dutch TV network 101 TV. Grant had to stand for 10 minutes attached to her while police detained Sijben and firefighters were summoned to cut the cuffs off.
Afterwards, she was arrested while the actor returned to his red-carpet duties promoting the film.
An onlooker says, "It was incredible. She appeared from nowhere and Grant couldn't believe it was happening. But he was the ultimate professional. He just stood in silence and waited for the fire fighters to free him.
"He did look relieved when he disappeared into the theater -- she could have been a maniac."
