Rap superstar 50 Cent is threatening to sue over allegations he was involved in the beating of a 14-year-old boy last week.
James Rosemond, son head of Czar Entertainment head Jimmy 'The Henchman' Rosemond, says he was attacked by Tony Yayo, a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit, in Manhattan last week.
50 Cent and G-Unit are said to have started feuding with Jimmy Rosemond after he signed former G-Unit member The Game to his management company in 2004.
Yayo was arrested over the weekend and charged with misdemeanor assault and endangering the welfare of a minor.
James’ mother, Cynthia Reed, has claimed 50 Cent witnessed and encouraged the alleged attack, but the rap superstar has blasted her allegations saying he wasn’t in New York on the day of the assault.
"I am outraged, as is my client, by the statement from Jeffrey Lichtman (The Rosemonds' lawyer),” Fiddy’s lawyer Benjamin Brafman told the New York Post.
"We can prove beyond question that 50 was not even in New York State at the time of the incident. And unless there is a complete retraction and apology from Mr. Lichtman, it is our intention to sue him for defamation."
But Reed isn’t scared by 50’s threats. The family’s lawyer said on behalf of Reed: "I retract nothing. I believe, in good faith that the statement about 50 Cent's involvement is credible and accurate and will be fully vindicated at trial. If Brafman and his client want to sue me, I say bring it on."
