Aging rocker Rod Stewart, 62, is being paid $1 million dollars to perform for an hour at a private party. New York billionaire Steve Schwarzman has hired the geezer to sing for him at his 60th birthday bash on February 13 which will be held at Manhattan's historic Park Avenue Armory.
"Rod will be flown in for the night with all expenses paid. He will perform all his old favorites. The set will last an hour," a source told The Sun .
Some 1,500 friends and family have been invited - many of them uppercrust and wealthy - including New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Schwarzmann, CEO and co-founder of the Blacktone private equity and management company, is ranked 73rd in Forbes magazine's US rich list. The business tycoon has an estimated personal fortune of around $3.5 billion.
