The Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J Blige says meeting her husband gave her the strength to turn her suicidal life around.
Mary met Kendu, a talent manager and producer, through rapper/actress Queen Latifah. Mary confesses: "We met when I hated men."
The 'Be Without You' singer says her life was in pieces after years of addiction and abuse when she met Kendu Isaacs, who encouraged to get help for her problems.
The 36-year-old says she was "totally done, spinning out of control, suicidal. I was that miserable" but "after I met him, everything changed in my life.”
She adds: "He said, 'Mary, I've got something to tell you that's going to hurt, but it will help you heal.
"You're scarred inside. It's like you have a cut, and it's infected. You have to let me put proper medicine on it so it can heal.' Guys didn't ever talk to me like that."
