Britney Spears is having second thoughts about her reckless night with a pair of shears and has taken to wearing a wig while out in public. The singer wore a skanky fake hairpiece to cover her newly shaven head as she drank cocktails at the exclusive Polo Lounge, before going to karaoke night at Roxy.
Onlookers said the 25-year-old visited the restroom several times with friends but her good mood darkened when the DJ played one of her biggest hits.
A source revealed: "Britney was enjoying herself until the DJ put her song 'Hit Me Baby…' onto the karaoke machine. She ignored pleas to perform the song and, with a face like thunder, she stormed out."
Britney's mother Lynne is said to be looking after her two sons, 17-month-old Sean Preston and five-month-old Jayden James, in Britney's Malibu home. The 'Toxic' singer's erratic behavior has led Lynne to fear Britney may lose custody of her children to estranged husband Kevin Federline, 28.
A source said: "Britney has called in her mother to make sure nobody can accuse her of neglecting her children. She is terrified that Kevin will take them."
It has been reported Britney may consider drawing up papers to make Lynne a legal custodian of the boys, making it harder for Kevin to take them away in the immediate future.
