Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera took off her character's thick glasses and dowdy frocks and embraced being "Betty-licious" yesterday when she was toasted as February 2007’s CosmoGirl magazine’s covergirl at a NYC luncheon.
The 22-year-old actress says she could not be happier about the success of her hit show about an ugly duckling in the fashion world, but recently revealed that she has other priorities too - such as finishing college.
“My mom reminded me just the other day I still owe her my diploma," she said. "I have a semester left.”
America is currently studying for a double-major in International Relations and Theater at the University of Southern California.

I absolutely love America Ferrera. I remember when I first saw her in "Real Women Have Curves" and now she is a superstar gracing the cover of CosmoGirl. I am so proud of her and I love it that she still has her eye on graduating college and having her TWO degrees as backup.
