The massively-successful TV series ‘The O.C’ has been cancelled after four years on our screens.
The show about a group of loaded Californian teenagers, which kick-started the careers of Mischa Barton and Adam Brody, is to be scrapped after attracting poor ratings recently.
It peaked with 10 million viewers watching its first season in 2003, although the current season has only gained around 4 million.
‘The O.C’s creator, Josh Schwartz, says the show’s finale will “will deliver real closure to the series, to the story we began telling four years ago. It will be fun and emotional and I think really satisfying. It is the finale we always planned to do”.
The final episode will be shown in the U.S on February 22.
