Bollywood babe Shilpa Shetty has been crowned the winner of 'Celebrity Big Brother' UK, with Jermaine Jackson voted as runner-up.
The actress, who described her time locked in the house as “incredible and overwhelming”, burst into tears after hearing she’d won the show.
31-year-old Shilpa thanked everyone who voted for her for “a fantastic opportunity to make my country”.
The ‘racist’ bullying of Shilpa in the house, by fellow housemates Danielle Lloyd, Jade Goody and Jo O’Meara, has made the headlines around the world.
When asked about the race show, Shilpa told the show’s host, Davina McCall, that Jade “didn‘t mean to be racist”.
Adding: “These things happen and we‘re all human beings.”
Shilpa picked up a whopping 63% of the votes from the six finalists, who also included ‘A Team’ actor Dirk Benedict - who finished in third place.
