Actress Marcheline Bertrand, the mother of Angelina Jolie, has died after a long battle with cancer.
Angelina was by her mom’s side on Saturday at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center when she died. 56-year-old Bertrand’s son James Haven and, Jolie‘s boyfriend Brad Pitt, were also present.
Bertrand brought up Jolie and Haven by herself after divorcing their father, actor Jon Voight, when Jolie was just a toddler.
The family has requested that instead of sending gifts or flowers, that donations be made to the Women's Cancer Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai.
A private funeral is planned.
