Heather Mills-McCartney has been warned about a threat to her safety.
Police have told the former model about a “non-specific threat” and issued her with a panic alarm. Despite the fears, they insist there is "imminent risk".
They have also spoken to her estranged husband, Sir Paul McCartney, about the threats, which were uncovered by police in Merseyside, England.
"Police can confirm that Mills McCartney was spoken to by officers and was fully informed of all the information, including details of the names of individuals involved,” a police spokesperson says.
"In addition, Mills-McCartney's estranged husband was also spoken to.
"Local officers have been fully briefed regarding the circumstances and provision has been made for an immediate police response should this be necessary."
Heather has previously received death threats following her split from Paul. She said the “very scary” situation had caused her to spiral into severe depression.
