Pete Doherty has escape jail; with a judge saying his drug offenses aren’t severe enough for him to be locked up.
The Babyshambles star, and Kate Moss’ fiance, was fined $1523 (£702) for possessing heroin, cocaine and other drugs, as well as being banned from driving for four months.
District Judge Jane McIvor told Pete in a London court that the sentence’s intention was “hitting your pockets”, with him receiving a fine of up to £200 for each drug he possessed.
The offenses date from both April and August this year.
During Pete’s September court appearance, Judge McIvor told the singer he would be spared jail if he didn’t commit any further offenses, continued rehab and stayed employed.
Doherty has admitted he was “relieved” about escaping a jail term.
