Nelly Furtado has overcome her fear of expressing herself in Spanish and is recording her first Spanish language album. The Canadian singer, who grew up speaking Portuguese, didn't learn Spanish until she was 14-years-old.
She tells MTV news, "I feel like a little kid again, because it's a whole new language!"
Although she has sung a few songs in Spanish before, including Te Busque on her album Loose, this is the first time she's attempted to write songs from scratch. "I'm in the midst of recording a Latin album. It's like, 'Wow, I'm writing a song in Spanish!' It's really bizarre, but really great."
The Promiscuous singer is following in the footsteps of other stars who have had successful Spanish albums including Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.
