Actor Mel Gibson is going to be asked to take a DNA test by a woman who says that she is his daughter. Carmel Sloane claims that the Hollywood actor got her mother pregnant 30 years ago, before he became famous as "Mad Max". Now Sloane, who has a 10-year-old son of her own who looks like Gibson, wants the actor to know about his secret family.
"I'm not doing it for his money. I just want to meet the man I've always known was my dad - and for him to get to know his grandson."
"I'd love it if he recognised us as family. I'm not looking for a meal ticket. I am happy with my life."
According to the story, Mel was working at an orange juice factory when he picked up 17-year-old girl, Sloane's mother, who was hitching a ride from Adelaide to Sydney and the two had a one night stand.
Sloane says: "I have grown up being told Mel Gibson is my father. I've been told it for 20 years. I would like some kind of closure either way. I don't want it to go on for another 20 years. We have no choice but to go legal so that we can get to the bottom of this once and for all. A simple DNA test will sort it out."
