Jessica Simpson has pulled out of paying tribute to Dolly Parton as part of the Kennedy Center Honours.
She’s requested her second attempt at covering the star’s hit ‘9 to 5’ be pulled from the upcoming television show, as she doesn’t think it was good enough after watching the tape back.
"She really wasn't happy with her performance and she did want it to be perfect for Dolly, who she idolises," said Jess’ spokesperson, Cindi Berger.
The performance was her second try after her chaotic first effort, during which she flubbed the lyrics and fled the stage
"We appreciate the time and energy Ms. Simpson put into this event and respect the high standards she has for herself and that of the Kennedy Center Honors," said George Stevens Jr., the show’s producer.
The show, minus Jess’ performance, will air on CBS December 26. As well as Parton, other the other stars paid tribute to are: Andrew Lloyd Webber, Zubin Mehta, Smokey Robinson and Steven Spielberg.
