Jessica Simpson has blamed her terrible performance at the Kennedy Center Honours event on Sunday night on a wardrobe malfunction.
The singer forgot the lyrics to ‘9 to 5’ during a tribute to Dolly Parton, relying on cue cards while bombing her way through the performance.
She was seen clutching her strapless gown with one hand, while holding her mic with the other. After the song with finally over, she quickly left the stage saying: "Dolly, you make me so nervous!"
Jessica became distracted after desperately trying to keep her dress up to the end of the song, ‘Star’ magazine says.
Luckily for Jess, her horror performance will not air on TV on Boxing Day, as he was given the chance to re-record it at the end of the show.
The botched performance will not air during the televised special on 26 December, as Simpson requested to re-tape the segment after the show.
