Eddie Murphy hired private detectives to spy on his ex-girlfriend Spice Girl Melanie Brown because he thought she was cheating on him, reports say.
Eddie believed his fears had been confirmed when the detectives snapped her with the male friend in Los Angeles last month.
“Eddie had his suspicions that Mel was becoming close to a guy he knows. He was furious when he saw the pictures,” a source says.
This prompted Eddie to dump Mel B and publicly question whether he was the father of her unborn child.
“It does on the face of it seem spiteful to now doubt that he’s the father of the baby, but as far as he’s concerned he’s been humiliated too. He’s just evening the score,” the source added.
