Dolly Parton has defended Jessica Simpson’s chaotic performance of her hit ‘9 to 5’ at the Kennedy Center Honors recently.
Jess left the stage in floods of tears after a bad performance of the track, that’s been blamed on a faulty dress, but Dolly has offered her comfort, saying she completely understands how performing in front of her and George W Bush would have made Jess nervous.
“Jessica is so talented that I’m sure that someday they will be paying tribute to her and I would be honoured to perform for her,” Dolly said.
“But I’ll probably be so nervous that I’ll forget my wig!” she added.
