Britney Spears has been warned her non-stop partying could harm her chances of securing custody of her children in her divorce battle with Kevin Federline.
Both Britney and Kevin are seeking sole custody of their kids, 15-month-old Sean Preston and three-month-old Jayden James, but are requesting their exes get visitation rights.
It’s claimed that the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, who visited the pop star in April after Sean was injured when he fell from a broken highchair, is trying to arrange a follow-up meeting with Britney after growing concerned about how her partying is affecting her parenting.
“The department has been calling Britney trying to set up a meeting with her, so they can check on Sean and Jayden. The calls started after this recent bout of bizarre public behaviour," a source says.
Divorce lawyer Dylan Mitchell believes Spears’ wild ways could definitely harm her custody battle: "Her behaviour is potentially creating an issue that shouldn't otherwise exist. She could give Mr Federline some leverage. If she continues like that, he could turn around and say, 'She's never home and other people are parenting the children.'
"My recommendation to her is that she mind her Ps and Qs. Everybody's watching - not only the news media and the paparazzi, but the judge. Now is not the time to party. Now is the time to be Super Mom."
