Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have married at a star-filled Scientology ceremony at a 15th-century Italian castle.
Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carey and Richard Gere were among the 150 friends and family at the wedding.
Katie wore an off-the-shoulder ivory silk gown designed by Giorgio Armani for the ceremony. She was walked down the aisle by father, Martin Holmes, while carrying a bouquet of flowers made by Armani.
Tom wore a single-breasted navy blue Armani handmade suit, with an ivory silk French collar shirt to complement Katie’s gown.
Cruise, then Holmes, accompied by the role of drums, walked down a stone ramp lined with flag bearers wearing medieval costumes.
The couple exchanged vows in a former stable which was minimally decorated with white flowers, before concluding the 20-minute ceremony with a kiss that was so long, it reportedly had some guests shouting “stop, stop!”
"For the Americans, this was very special because Americans do not have this kind of thing back home, and they dream of such things in our beautiful country, and you can see the surprise and the awe on their faces," Armani said.
