Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres got a shock from guest Sandra Bullock who revealed on the show yesterday that the "Miss Congeniality" star had planned to buy an estate in California for the specific purpose of holding her dream wedding there.
Her joy soon turned into bitter disappointment when they were told that another famous celeb had swooped in and bought it. "I was really pissed," she told Degeneres about how she and fiance Jesse James were forced to look elsewhere.
"It was a beautiful Tuscan house and had these valleys and fields and llamas and I was like, 'Oh my god, this reminds me of Europe. I grew up in Europe. I drove up and I became the weepy bride...." Bullock told DeGeneres, describing the estate in rural California. "Then we were told that some famous person had bought the house. They sold it out from under us! We had already booked the hotels... I was really pissed."
A shocked DeGeneres told Bullock that she had no idea about any wedding plans, otherwise, she would certainly have let the actress use it for her nuptials. "When we bought the place we didn't know, because we would have let you use it," she said.
Bullock and James later were married at the Folded Hill Ranch near Santa Barbara, California.
