British R&B singer Jamelia is in hospital recovering following a hernia operation.
The Superstar singer was rushed back to England after collapsing "doubled up in pain" while filming a TV show in Spain, her manager Jonathan Shalit said.
She had micro surgery at St Mary's hospital in London, after being diagnosed with an umbilical hernia.
Jamelia was told her condition was hereditary and was related to the after-effects of having children, Shalit said.
He added the star, who has two daughters, had been in pain before flying to Spain but decided to go ahead with the trip.
"Her view is that you are lucky enough to do this job so you have to just get on and do it," he said.
It’s hoped Jamelia will be fit to perform with Meat Loaf at the Royal Variety Performance on December 4.
