Fuming Michael Jackson fans are demanding refunds on their World Music Awards, following a chaotic performance from their idol.
They say they were misled by promises that the musical superstar was to perform a version of hit mega-hit single, ‘Thriller’.
As previously reported, Jacko was booed after what was hyped as his comeback performance turned into just a few lines of ‘We Are The World’.
"I'm furious," said one fan, who spent £200 to get to the show. "I feel like I've been ripped off."
While another said: "People were expecting something significant but he didn't perform at all. "When the lights went on I saw people's faces and they were like: 'Is that it?'"
"I should have just stayed at home and watched it on TV... We should definitely get a refund."
The shambolic performance has been blamed on it having to be cut short because the ceremony over-ran, with a PR person saying the sound got cut on Jackson’s performance. But a show spokesperson denies that happened, saying the event actually finished early.
Despite fans’ anger, the World Music Awards’ organisers claim to have "not…had one complaint" about the event.
