The never-ending legal battle between two top celebrity magazines over photos taken of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ 2000 wedding has reached Britain’s highest court.
Judges in the House of Lords will decide whether Hello must big bucks to its rival magazine OK! , after secretly taking snaps of the couple’s New York wedding.
OK!, who paid a big sum to the Hollywood couple for exclusive coverage of the ceremony, sued Hello after it published pictures from the event.
Zeta-Jones was also pissed off about the photos being taken, but for different reasons. In a 2003 High Court Hearing, she said she felt "violated" by unflattering photos of her being taken, including one of her husband feeding her wedding cake.
"I don't usually like my husband shoving a spoon down my throat to be photographed," Jones said.
The hearing, which lasts for one week, started in the House of Lords yesterday. Jones and Douglas are not expected to attend.
The case could lead to a change in privacy laws.
