Russell Crowe throws phones and model Naomi Campbell throws LOTS of phones but Denise Richards has them both beat. Denise scooped up two laptops belonging to paparazzi dudes and tossed them off a hotel balcony – and one hit an 80-year-old woman sitting in a wheelchair!
The actress was angry about the snappers hanging around the set of her movie in Vancouver and accosted them, grabbing their computers and turning them into frisbees. Suddenly, it was raining IBM Thinkpads!!
Unfortunately, one of the falling laptops hit a little old lady in the arm. An ambulance was called. Fortunately, she wasn't beaned horribly and suffered "only minor injuries," said a spokesman for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to People magazine.
The Mounties interviewed Richards and co-star Pam Anderson about the incident, and the film's production company agreed to pay for the damaged computers.
"Based on the actions of the paparazzi, they are lucky their laptops are the only things that were tossed over the balcony," a rep for Richards told People.
As of yet, no charges are being filed. Howard Blank, a representative of the "Blonde and Blonder" production, said, "No one was seriously injured in any way." He said the events were "getting blown way out of proportion."
