Illusionist David Blaine has completed his latest daring stunt, taking just 15 minutes to escape his shackles while suspended above New York’s Times Square for two days in a rotating gyroscope.
33-year-old Blaine, who described the stunt as his most difficult yet, plunged through a plywood stage as fans looked on. The fall left him with a limp.
Finishing the stunt means 100 under-privileged children, selected by the The Salvation Army, will be taken on a Christmas shopping trip.
Each of the children will receive a $500 gift certificate from the retailer Target.
