Illusionist David Blaine has kick-started his latest stunt, which he describes as his hardest one so far. It involves him spinning inside a gyroscope above New York.
David will dangle for nearly three days above the streets near Times Square before attempting to escape from shackles.
"This is more difficult than anything I've ever done," Blaine said before commencing his stunt.
Blaine is held in three spinning steel rings, which will flip David in different directions up to eight times a minute.
Shackles will be added to David on Thursday, which will give him 16 hours to free himself.
Following his stunt, David will take 100 underprivileged children - chosen by The Salvation Army charity - on a shopping spree.
David chose to help the charity as it provided him with clothing when he was a child.
